If you're not short, you don't know the woes of having short arms. And you don't know what it's like shopping for long sleeved tops. It's long-armed world out there people. Seriously.
So, while I was in Vancouver, I stocked up on some closet staples from Aritzia. They carry small sizes that are truly tailored for, uh, small people. Even though their pants are still way too long for me, their shirts fit me pretty well.
I especially love oxford shirts. They're perfect with shorts, jeans, skirts, tights, pants, and well, everything. They're classic, cool, and absolutely timeless. It's been really hard for me to find oxford shirts that fit me well. Most oxford shirts have overly wide shoulders, excessively long sleeves, button gaps, and poofy belly syndrome.
Anyway, the ones from the Talula line fit great. As you can see, I seem pretty darn pleased with myself. :)

Opposite Is Opposite
What's the opposite of tall?
Did you say short?
I think it's actually me.
I epitomize shortness.
Thanks for the genes mom.

Clint Eastwood Style
I'm pretty sure this is the perfect 4th of July outfit.
I can imagine picnicking, barbequing, and ice cream eating in this outfit.
Too bad I didn't wear it on the 4th. I wore it on the 5th. To eat frozen yogurt.
What a rebel. I know.

Doctor, Save Me
As I am writing this, I am drinking directly from a 2 liter bottle of Diet Dr. Pepper.
It's been that kind of a week.
Anyway, it's nothing that a super girly outfit couldn't cure.
And a few episodes of Mad Men and Thai takeaway.

Wednesday Work Day
My blog title really has nothing to do with my post - except that this is what I wore to work today.
What I really want to talk about is this blouse and what it symbolizes. This blouse represents one of my most shameful habits: giftkeeping.
You know, when you buy a gift for someone, but keep it for yourself. And instead of a gift, the person gets a card. Or maybe a half-eaten candy bar.*
Oh, for shame. It matches my skirt and shoes though!

The Direct Approach
Can I say that it is really, really weird taking photos of yourself?
Can I also say that it is even weirder to look at photos of yourself? Really, besides narcissistic egomaniacs, models, and celebrities, who really enjoys looking at their own face?
Oh, you do? My apologies.
If I had your face, I'd look at it all the time too.
Whaa? Cheesy pick up line?
You know you like it.
**I may or may not have slept in this dress. That is hardcore dedication to this project.

Suit Up!
My husband and I are going to Hawaii in 22 days. I'm totally ready!
Of course, every beach vacation requires a major investment in two things: smutty pleasure reading and new bathing suits!
I'll discuss my smutty reading list later, but first...
I recently found the perfect bathing suit top for my body. These cuties are from Ralph Lauren. They cover one of my problem areas, my protruding rib cage (I know, woe is me), and give me a slight (but desperately needed) boobage boost.
I ordered the aqua and violet from Nordstrom. Totally love them. They are cut like a halter, which makes my shoulders look narrower, and the longer length makes my waist look smaller. Yay on both counts. If I am brave enough, I may post some photos of me actually wearing them. Of course, I also don't want to scare anyone...
Until then, tell me: what bathing suits are you loving this season?

What the Romp??
A couple of months ago, I was shopping for a cute dress to wear during my Miami trip. Instead of a cute dress, I found a cute romper.
In the dressing room, I thoroughly debated the pros and cons of wearing a romper.
Pros: I look cute.
Cons: How do I pee?
It was a really thorough debate, let me tell you.
Cute vs. bodily functions. If I were a man, the romper would have gone back to the rack faster than Lindsay Lohan could... all right, we'll keep it classy.
But I'm a woman. Looking cute is a top priority.
So, the romper came home with me.
While I was in Miami, I tried on the romper, and I seriously wondered, "How the hell am I supposed to pee in this?"
Dressing room debate, fail.
Let's add this one to the "What the hell was I thinking?" pile of clothes.
Romper manufacturers, please add a pee hole to the crotch area of all rompers. Thank you.

You Dress Ugly
My mom once told me I was weird looking.
Straight up.
TO MY FACE: "You are weird looking."
I suppose it didn't help that until I turned 22, I insisted on wearing overalls. And giant hoodies. And sneakers. And patterned stretchy pants. (Yes, it is true.)
I never wore dresses. Or skirts. Or cute shoes.
EVER.
I know. A tragedy, isn't it?
Today, I love wearing dresses, skirts, and cute shoes.
Today, I love all things that make me look normal and less "weird".
Last week in Las Vegas, I decided to search for a few missing pieces in my closet: classy (non-slutty) dresses and fun summery skirts.
Mission: success. Now, just finding the right place to wear a tulle white skirt.
